A Lovely Florida Wedding

Who says you can’t have a fabulous wedding in a recession?  The wedding of Lindsey and James proves you can have it all…romance, style and more!  Lindsey recently emailed me her wedding photos and some of her tips for putting together a wedding on a budget.  Here are her frugal, yet stylish tips:

1.   Venue + Food:  Lindsey and James opted to have their ceremony & reception at a local restaurant, which happened to previously be owned by James’ mom.  The home has since been converted into Chef T’s Garden Grill in Lakeland Florida.  The back patio is beautiful with an intimate tropical feel.  Not only does the location have sentiment for Lindsey and James, it is also a beautiful backdrop for their reception.  Scout out locations in your area that are in your budget, but that offer a unique feel and style all their own.  (You’ll end up spending a lot less on decorations and flowers if the setting is already beautiful!)

Soft Pink Etsy Finds

frugal_weddingI spent much of the morning scowering Etsy for some wedding finds.  There is simply so much to look at…but I think I found some lovely things that would add a little romance to any wedding.  I was inspired by a bride I was recently working with, who chose pink as her signature color.  Not the Pepto Pink of Steel Magnolias, but all shades of pink (many with a yellow undertone to keep the look somewhat vintage).  Check out all of these fabulous finds on Etsy:

1 –  Cotton Candy Set of 3 Pom Poms ($15):  I just think these tissue paper pom poms are the greatest decoration!  They add a lot of color in a fun and whimsical way.  At $15 for 3 you could hang them at the entrance of your chapel or reception, or hang them above a candy table.  They are great big bursts of color!  These are made to order by Party Poms, and she sells them in all sorts of colors and quantities.  Take a look at her site and you’ll be thinking …
